Gloria Thompson - Ink & Tabs Founder

The Founder

Founded by actress, playwright, and creative director Gloria Thompson — a Ghanaian‑Canadian and Black Hole Theatre Company Alumnus — Ink & Tabs was born from a passion for storytelling that carries both artistic excellence and spiritual depth. Gloria’s work across theatre and film reflects a commitment to stories that move people: stories shaped by faith, enriched by diverse cultures, and grounded in the belief that art can heal, challenge, and illuminate.

Ink & Tabs exists as a home for purpose-driven creativity. We create clean, culturally rich, Gospel-shaped theatre that welcomes audiences of all backgrounds while giving actors of faith a space where their craft and convictions can thrive. Our mission is simple: to build meaningful, accessible art that sparks reflection, connection, and hope — on stage, in community, and beyond.

Ink & Tabs began just two years ago with a simple desire: to tell small but meaningful stories that brought people together. What started as intimate Christmas skits and short sketches quickly grew into a creative movement shaped by faith, culture, and community. Each performance deepened our conviction that clean, purposeful theatre still has the power to move hearts — and that audiences are hungry for stories that uplift without compromising artistic excellence.

In 2026, that quiet beginning opened into something bigger. On May 30th, we premiered our first full mainstage production, marking a new chapter for our company and the artists who have grown with us. What began as a handful of sketches has become a home for emerging talent, faith-driven performers, and audiences seeking theatre with depth, joy, and integrity.

The Debut that sparked...

Eyes That See is the debut mainstage production from Ink & Tabs — a sweeping, cross‑continental story that begins in a vibrant West African village and unexpectedly intersects with the world of ancient Judea. At its heart is Dromo, a blind girl whose days are filled with laughter, teasing friends, and the rhythms of home… until one night, everything changes.

Under a quiet sky, Dromo witnesses the impossible: a burst of radiant light — the rising star of a Jewish Messiah — a sign she can see, though physically blind. It is a moment Dromo and those around her cannot explain, a revelation she cannot interpret, and a mystery she will not fully understand until decades later. But it marks her. It calls her. And it sets her life on a trajectory no one around her could imagine.

Meanwhile, miles away near Bethlehem, a young Jewish boy named Adar experiences his own supernatural encounter — angels singing in the fields, a star blazing above, and a message that shakes him to his core. Two children, worlds apart, are drawn into the same divine story long before they can fully understand it

Blending humor, cultural richness, spiritual depth, and cinematic storytelling, Eyes That See reframes a familiar biblical moment through an unexpected lens. It is a tale of innocence and calling, of fear and wonder, of a God who reveals Himself to the overlooked — and of a blind girl who sees what others cannot.
